Appointed to Director International Affairs - Abe Schneider
The WA BMX Titles held at Southside BMX Club in Bullcreek. This was the first of two WA State BMX Titles held this year as the decision was made to hold State Titles in October rather than January.

MARCH
The Australian BMX National Championships were held in Tamworth, New South Wales, March 27-30. A total of 868 entries were received for the titles with each State represented. Peter Tremworth took out the Elite Mens final.
Mr Brian Esplin is awarded the 1997 Official of the Year from the Australian Sports Commission.
