BMX TRADERS PERTH
BMX Traders Perth is owned and run by myself, Lee Reynolds, who also runs this website. BMX Traders Perth is actually BMX Collectors, Restorers and Traders Perth on Facebook. It is purely a non profit hobby business finding and restoring the history of BMX one piece at a time. I generally buy and sell anything BMX related to fund the ongoing collection of old school bmx which is where my passion lies. the late 70's, 80's and early 90's were the best times of BMX for me and for a lot of other people out there.
If you have anything BMX racing related laying around you no longer want to keep please let me know. I would love to add it to my own collection so I can share it with everyone.
A LITTLE BACKGROUND ON ME:
I am a middle aged man who fell in love with BMX in 1979 as a 5 year old watching my brother race at tracks aroung Perth. He started on a Mongoose Motomag which he handed down to me (my first bmx bike) when he got sponsored by DBS Prosight. I remember watching the team van pull up and my brother loading the bike into the van and driving away only to return hours and hours later with yet another trophie to add to the collection. My brother retired from racing in 1983 and my family moved to Kelmscott. There was a local kid just around the corner from me by the name of Brad James who was state and Australian BMX Champion at the time and we quickly became friends. Id go to race meets and watch him race all the while pleading with my parents to let me have a go. Finally my parents let me race so my brother handed me his beloved Prosight and off we went. I never forget that first race at Kelmscott BMX Club back in 1984. To my parents surprise I actually won three out of the 5 races in my age group. From there on I got better and better with age and although I never did well at State Title finals I was regarded as one of the toughest racers back in the day. My racing career was cut short after a bad crash at Wanerroo BMX track in 1990 racing Dean Crisp which saw me with a shattered knee and numerous other injuries. I was six months off the bike and made my return for the 1991 State Titles at Westside BMX track in Balcatta. Unfortunately my knee was still to weak and i'd lost my killer instinct in the corners so I made the decission to retire on a high note. Since then I have raced a couple of times but only as fun, nothing to serious. Ive always had BMX bikes all through my life and have a decent collection of old and mid school race bikes in my possession currently. I look back at those years racing with very fond memories of not only the sport and the competition but the people involved as well. These people is what makes the sport so great in my eyes.

I love the sport of BMX so much that over the years I have been collecting anything and everything to do with BMX racing from the 70's, 80's and early 90's. It is my mission to keep the history of BMX racing in WA alive through this website as well as through my collection which I hope to one day be able to display at tracks and other venues around Perth.

At the age of 44 turning 45 I am unsure if I will return to the sport of BMX racing again or put my time and effort into this website and the ever growing collection of memorabilia that I have accumulated. Either way the sport of BMX has and will always be a part of me even if i'm not up there on the gate competing.
BMX for life
